Now 24 Republican governors - and one Democrat - say they don't want to accept Syrian refugees as President Obama recommits the United States to 'do its part'
2015-11-17
[DailyMail] o President Obama said the United States needed to 'step up and do its part' admitting refugees from Syria

o He said that the issue of refugees and terrorism should not be equated in the aftermath of the Paris attacks

o A handful of Republican governors have publicly pronounced that their states would not accept Syrians

o Obama made a swipe at those GOP leaders - asking them to be more like President George W. Bush in the aftermath of 9/11

Governors of these states have said no to Syrian refugees:
Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
Georgia
Florida
Idaho
Indiana
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Louisiana
Maine
Massachusetts
Michigan
Mississippi
Nebraska
New Hampshire
(the single Democrat)
New Jersey
North Carolina
Ohio
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Wisconsin

Since Friday's attacks, Gov. Rick Snyder of Michigan said his state is postponing efforts to accept Syrian refugees. Yesterday, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley said he would refuse Syrian refugees trying to enter the state. Today Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered that his state's refugee resettlement program not accept any more Syrians. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson tweeted that he opposed Syrian refugees being relocated into Arkansas. And Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, another GOP presidential contender, issued an executive order to prevent Syrian refugees in the state of Louisiana, according to 4WWL in New Orleans.

Several Democratic governors voiced support for the refugees and echoed Obama's words. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said his state 'will continue to be a state that welcomes those seeking refuge from persecution, regardless of where they come from or the religion they practice'. Democratic Govs. Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania and Dannel P. Malloy of Connecticut also said their states will have open doors.

#3  My hometown and current residence is on the list of 108 cities slated to take part. Unfortunately, I'm in CA. I've already acquired the contact info for the individuals associated with the USCCB who are tasked with coordinating resettlement services, as well as those for neighboring communities so we can get the spotlight aimed at the cockroaches

#2  Refugee resettlement group admits: We don’t track them

“We’re at the receiving end,” Chad Aguillard, executive director of Catholic Charities, says. “We receive them, we welcome them into our community and help them resettle (apparently not.). There has been a lot of commotion and fear with Syrians. The fear is justified, but we have to check that against reality.”

Thank you Catholic Charities! Btw, you may want to check your Latin-to-English dictionary for "Non sequitur."
