| Somali Govt troops backed by African Soldiers in the country’s central Hiiraan region began advancing on villages controlled by Al shabaab militants, military officers said. The allied troops are now a few kilometers from Eldhere village after retaking Garisyani area on the outskirts of Bula-burde town over the weekend, according to Mohamed Omar Aden, a senior Somali military commander. Somali and AMISOM troops have been making military movements across Hiiraan region over the past few months, in a move they want to drive the Al shabaab militants out of their remaining bastions. |
