The suspects were captured for recruiting fighters to join the ranks of the ISIS Lion of Islam group in Syria and Iraq. Spain's interior ministry said in a statement that the suspects were detained in the Spanish cities of Toledo and Badalona, and the Moroccan city of Casablanca. "Those arrested belong to a network of people that recruited, indoctrinated and sent imported muscle to join Daesh (ISIS)," the ministry said on Sunday. Several European and North African countries have increased security measures to prevent citizens from joining the ISIS radical group. Spain had earlier arrested dozens of ISIS-linked jihadists. In September, the Spanish authorities revealed the arrest of 71 hard boys. |
