[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Heavy festivities have also been reported in northeastern Takhar province of Afghanistan following a major offensive by the Talibs in the neighboring Kunduz province. The Talibs have reportedly launched the attack on the district's administrative compound and police headquarter earlier this evening. A local security official confirmed that additional forces have been deployed and shootout continue between the Afghan forces and the Talibs. The official further added preliminary reports suggest at least fifteen Talibs have been killed and twelve others have been maimed during the shootout. In the meantime, the Talibs claimed that they have full taken control of the district. This comes as the northern Kunduz city was seized by the Talibs following a coordinated attack launched earlier this morning.
