| Injured in Kufra fighting airlifted to Misrata |

| [Libya Herald] Two planes carrying 28 people injured in the festivities in the southeastern oasis of Kufra arrived in Misrata today, taking them to hospital in the city. They are said to include both civilians and well as gunnies from both side in the resurgent fighting there between Tebus and Zwais. The town's Zwai-dominated council has accused Tebus ,supported by compatriots from Chad and members of the bad boy Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) from Sudan's Darfur region, of launching the attacks in the town. Exasperated with the lack of help from the Libyan authorties, it has also threatened to call in assistance from Egypt and Sudan to deal with the fighting. Tebu sources from the town have confirmed the council's version of events to the Libya Herald, saying that the fighters from Chad were "renegade gangs", interested only in money. JEM, a Darfur liberation movement, was supported by Qadaffy against the Sudanese government. During the revolution, he then used it to launch attacks on Kufra, which had risen up against him. |
