District Police Chief among five martyred in Balkh explosion |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Five people including a District Police Chief embraced martyrdom and four others maimed in a landmine kaboom in northern Balkh province. Reports suggest that the Police Chief of Dawlat Shah District was on a routine patrol in his district when his vehicle ran over a landmine this morning. Farhad, the front man for acting governor of Balkh province confirmed the kaboom. The vehicle was also almost completely damaged in the kaboom. Soon after the incident other forces arrived at the site and transported those maimed to nearby hospital. This comes days after a security operation concluded in Dawlat Shah and other adjourning districts after which security forces expressed satisfaction over the security situation of these areas. No group had grabbed credit for the kaboom by the time this report was filed. |
