[Bangkok Post] Two people were killed and at least ten others wounded by six explosions in Narathiwat province on Thursday night. Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri said two bombs went off near Wat Sangkhasitthitharam. The first was intended to lure people to the scene, and then the second bomb exploded and wounded the gathering villagers. The third blast occurred in front of the nearby Tanyongmas cooperative and the fourth was in front of a branch office of TOT Plc. All the locations are in Rangae district. The third explosion was a motorbike bomb that went off when paramilitary rangers were walking towards the scene of the first two blasts. It killed a ranger and a villager and injured others. The fourth blast near a local railway track was later discovered to be a large firecracker. Fourteen people were injured, including four paramilitary officers. Two more bombs exploded later but caused no casualties. |
