| Jubo League leader stabbed to death |

| [Dhaka Tribune] A Jubo League ... the youth wing of the Bangla Awami League... leader was killed by local thugs in the capital's Mohammadpur area on Sunday night. The victim, Mohammad Sohel Bali, 28, from Chhilarchar in Madaripur district, was secretary general of Jubo League's Dhaka Udyan unit in Mohammadpur. Police placed in durance vile Please don't kill me! a man named Badrul yesterday in connection with the murder, after the victim's father filed a murder case in the afternoon, in which he listed Badrul and six others as accused. Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Sohel's father Abdul Mannan said Sohel ran a multipurpose cooperative society in the area and left home around 6:40pm on Sunday to collect money for that. Around 10pm, the caretaker of his neighbour's house, Firoz, informed him that Sohel had been stabbed in front of a tea stall on Road 1 in Dhaka Udyan area. When he went there, locals told him his son had been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Rushing there, he learnt that the on-duty doctors had declared Sohel dead around 11:50pm. Later, Mannan filed the murder case with Mohammadpur cop shoppe, accusing seven people including Badrul. |
