UN must 'criminalize' Houthi acts
2015-08-21
[ARABNEWS] The World Assembly of Moslem Youth (WAMY) has called on the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
to criminalize the actions of the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels in Sanaa.
I doubt it. It would call for criminalizing all rebels, everywhere.
"These Houthi militias have forcefully occupied the WAMY headquarters and other charitable organizations in the Yemeni capital," Saleh Al-Wohaibi, WAMY secretary-general, told Arab News on Thursday.

He said that all the WAMY staff members in Sanaa have returned to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
because of their unlawful occupation. "We had one dormitory full of orphans under our care, who were also chased out of the home," he said.

"The inhumane, criminals acts of the rebels will have to be met with the right form of actions," he said, appealing to the United Nations to use their offices to punish the rebels.

Al-Wohaibi said the whole world observed the United Nations' World Humanitarian Day on Wednesday and it was time for everyone to fight atrocities against innocent people everywhere.

"While condemning detrimental actions against humanity, I strongly urge the social workers involved in serving society not to deter from their path of action and give way to their criminal acts."

With the help of several international relief organizations, WAMY delivered about 50,000 food baskets over the past four months to needy people in Yemen.

According to Al-Wohaibi, the organization distributed baskets in Al-Jund and Al-Hudaida regions which were home to many poor people. The aid included large amounts of medical supplies, benefiting more than 250,000 needy Yemenis.

Each $100 basket contained 10 kg of rice, 10 kg of sugar, 20 kg of flour, 2 liters of oil, and food products such as pastas and sauces, provided by businesspeople in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. He said the King Salman
