At least five people, four Al Shabaab fighters have been killed and dozen others wounded in deadly fighting that erupted in parts of Elbuur town in central Somalia.Somalia’s Elbuur DC Nuur Hassan Gutaale told Shabelle Media based in Mogadishu that the clash broke out when number of insurgent group assaulted on military checkpoints in the town.
Mr. Guutaale said that at least four Al Qaeda associated with Al Shabab rebels had been killed and several others were seriously wounded in the battle.
“A number terror group of Al Shabaab attacked military bases with rocket propelled grenades and machine guns but our soldiers repulsed their dreadful ambush assault” he added.
Hassan Gutaale highlighted that military offensive against Al Shabaab militants which launched by government troops is underway in the town and its suburbs. In the past days, anti Al Shabaab militants operations were ongoing in Elbuur town in Galgadud region of central Somalia.
