[PhilStar] Seven militants were killed after two factions of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front engaged in a series of gun battles in Palimbang town culminating on Saturday.An MILF unit under Commander Andih and another under Commander Binago began shooting at one another on Friday in Barangay Napnapan. Fighting broke out when Andih and his men attacked Binago's unit to avenge the killing of one of Andih's men by people identified with Binago, according to local officials.
Seven guerrillas from the two MILF units were killed in the shootout and some 3,000 residents were forced to evacuate to safer areas.
