| Policeman killed, 3 injured in attack on Cairo-Fayoum desert road | |

| [AlAhram] One policeman has been killed and three others injured after unknown assailants fired shots early Saturday at a prisoners transfer truck on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported. The injuried were transported to the Fayoum General Hospital for treatment. According to initial investigations, gunnies on a cycle of violence fired shots on the police truck that was travelling on the desert road south of Cairo. The Cairo-Fayoum desert road has been disrupted several times by assailants firing on security checkpoints. In May, assailants fired on a checkpoint on the road. However, a lie repeated often enough remains a lie... no injuries were reported and the assailants escaped.
The shooting came days after coppers killed five suspects in Fayoum province, southwest of Cairo. | |
