Dhaka -- A man was killed in ‘gunfight’ with police at Baisteki in in the city's Mirpur area on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, 30, son of late Ismail Sheikh of Durgapur under Pirojpur Sadar thana in Pirojpur district.

Sensing presence of the police members,

Injured Salam was taken to a nearby hospital,

where doctors declared him dead at about 1.00 am, said sub-inspector Sentu Das of DMCH police camp.
