[DeutscheWelle] Russia's Anti-Terrorist Committee said that eight Daesh militants were killed in combat in Ingushetia, west of Chechnya. A statement by the committee said, "As a result of a firefight, eight militants were neutralized."The statement said the group's leader, Adam Tagilov, was among those killed. He was accused of organizing an armed raid on Grozny in December 2014, the day of President Vladimir Putin's state of the nation address. 25 people were killed in the attack.
The eight men killed by Russian security forces are believed to have been part of Chechen umbrella group the Caucases Emirate. They are allegedly responsible for a number of deadly attacks against police in the region.
