At least 30 people killed south Syria as barrel bombing continues
2015-07-03
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Syrian regime air forces extended its fierce aerial campaign on the southern province of Daraa, killing dozens of people, a move came to put down rebels' effort to take full control of the strategic region near Jordan.

On Wednesday, more than 30 people, including women and kiddies, killed in barrel kabooms on Saida, Tiba and Tafas towns near the Jordanian border, according to activists.

Activists said two people from Tafas were died of wounds sustained at the Jordanian border after being denied entry to Jordan's hospitals.

Activists via Zaman al-Wasl have pleaded to Jordanian authorities to open the borders for maimed Syrians.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said Wednesday's corpse count reached 43 by Bashir al-Assad forces.

For months, the regime has waged an unrelenting aerial campaign against the opposition-held areas making particular use of crude so-called barrel bombs.

Rights groups criticize the weapons as indiscriminate and say they are more likely to cause civilian casualties.
