| Cop killed, another injured in BIFF ambush |

| Members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters on Tuesday killed a policeman and injured another in Maguindanao, the fourth attack in the province in just three weeks. The slain officer, Habib Narciso, and his companion, Abdullah Hashim, were heading to Datu Saudi town when BIFF militants on separate motorcycles attacked them from behind. Senior Inspector Solaiman Bakal said Narciso was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians. Hashim, who sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, was seriously injured. Bakal said, "It was a typical `liquidation style’ attack. The suspects were riding motorcycles. They sped away after they shot the victims with pistols." The ambush happened just five days after BIFF militants shot up a car passing through a highway in Datu Salibo, killing its two passengers on the spot. |
