Detroit police seek clues in shooting at block party
2015-06-22
[FOXNEWS] bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
police say they have few leads in their investigation of a shooting at a block party that left one man dead and nine people maimed.

Police say someone opened fire about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a children's party on a basketball court on the city's west side. No children were maimed.

Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt says about 400 people attended the party. Police haven't identified the 20-year-old man who died.

Dolunt says that six men and three women ages 21 to 46 were maimed. Police say a 46-year-old man was critically injured.

Dolunt told radio station WWJ-AM on Sunday that police "don't have much" to go on, calling it "very disheartening."

Police Chief James Craig says officers will canvass the neighborhood Sunday in search of leads.

#8  One has to wonder how much 'support' or even attention this upstanding role model gave his 6 year-old daughter.

Lets see - he planted this seed when he was 16 or so - and also went to prison when he was 16 for 5 years for armed robbery (very likely wasn't around for his daughter's birth), then 10 more months for abduction / kidnapping.

#6  "You know how it goes out here," he said. "Nobody's going to talk with all these police out here."

They'll opt for the alternate justice system that provides justice rather than the rituals of the legal system that they don't see has offering justice anymore. See - Shakespeare*'s Montagues and Capulets (vendetta)

* yep, that old white writer who the socialists elites seek to drop from school curriculum because he's not 'relevant' to a multi-cultural society.

#3  More from Detroit — Decrying the no-snitch silence that descended over a west side neighborhood after a block party erupted in violence, leaving one dead and 11 others shot, Police Chief James Craig on Sunday pleaded with witnesses to come forward and identify the "urban terrorists."

#2  A similar event in Cleveland this weekend:

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The man gunned down on Cleveland's East Side Saturday afternoon was a father enrolled in a GED program who dreamed of playing college football, his family said.

Authorities have not identified the victim, but Arthur Davis III's family confirmed the 22-year-old was shot multiple times and killed about 2:30 p.m. on Cable Avenue, off Broadway Avenue....Several of Davis' family members rushed to the scene about two hours after his death. ...Arielle Davis said her brother, killed the day before Father's Day, had a 6-year-old daughter.

"This is not fair," Arielle Davis sobbed. "He didn't want this."

Neighbors have regularly heard gunshots at the intersection of Cable and Adolpha avenues in recent months. One man, who declined to give his name out of fear of retaliation, said a group of men who often stood at the corner would draw their guns as cars drove by....Davis was released from prison in January after serving 10 months on an abduction conviction. Before that served five years for aggravated robbery stemming from when he was 16, according to court records.

Arielle Davis said her brother had gotten mixed up with the wrong crowd in his early teenage years, and that threw his life off track....Davis' father, Arthur Davis Jr., said he was passing out his cellphone number, hoping someone would come straight to him.

"You know how it goes out here," he said. "Nobody's going to talk with all these police out here."
