US Official: Iranian ships moving away from Yemen |
2015-04-24 |
![]() The official, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... , called the move a "promising sign" but said the United States would continue to monitor to see if the ship's course continued. President Barack Obama If you have a small business, you didn't build that... said on Tuesday the US government had warned Iran not to send weapons to Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... that could be used to threaten shipping traffic in the Gulf. |

#4 The USS "T.R." CVN is now repor also ordered away from Yemen, so it is likely that all sides desire to give diplomacy a chance. * RELATED TOPIX > US PENTAGON CITES DE-ESCALATION OF TENSIONS OVER IRANIAN SHIPS IN GULF OF ADEN. * SAME > [WaPo] CONFRONTATION AVOIDED? IRANIAN AND US SHIPS BOTH TURN AWAY FROM YEMEN. OTOH the Houthis are refusing to [temporarily?]withdraw from captured territories as per peace talks unless the Saudi airstrikes end first. |

#3 Maybe part of a secret deal between Iran and Saudi, which both sides will likely break at the earliest opportunity. |
