Sweden announces intention to join international coalition in Iraq

[IraqiNews.com] Sweden announced on Thursday, that it plans to send military forces into northern Iraq as part of the international coalition to combat the ISIS organization, adding that the number of soldiers amounts to 35 elements and might reach 120 elements if necessary.

The Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstorm and Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist said in a joint written statement published by the Russian website 'Sputnik' and followed by IraqiNews.com, "Sweden intends to send troops into northern Iraq as part of the international coalition to combat ISIS and advise the Iraqi security forces," explaining that, "The Swedish experts will work with other members of the coalition who are already in the region, like the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Finland."

The two ministers added, "The Swedish government asked the parliament to ratify sending a group of 35 soldiers in 2015 to participate in military operations conducted by the international coalition in north of Iraq," noting that, "The number is probably up to 120 soldiers if necessary."

Security forces detain 4 ISIS elements in Kirkuk

[IraqiNews.com] On Thursday, a source within the police force in Kirkuk province announced, that the security forces have detained four elements of the ISIS group in southwest of the province.

The source told IraqiNews, "Today, local police forces conducted a security operation in the area of Bajwan (25 km southwest of Kirkuk)," pointing out that, "The operation resulted in arresting 4 ISIS elements."

"The forces seized a number of computers belonging to ISIS that contains information about the group's operations," the source added.

ISIS launches attack on al-Dajil, south of Tikrit

[IraqiNews.com] On Thursday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that the ISIS group holy warriors have carried out a violent attack on the district of al-Dajil, located in south of Tikrit.

The source stated to IraqiNews in an interview, "This evening, ISIS holy warriors have carried out a violent attack from 3 axes on the areas of al-Kasarat, al-Maqala and Sayed-Gharib in the district of al-Dajil (120 km south of Tikrit)," pointing out that, "Violent festivities have broken out between the ISIS group holy warriors and al-Hashed al-Sha'bi militia fighters stationed in the district."

Tribal fighters kill 4 ISIS militants in clashes northeast of Tikrit

[IraqiNews.com] On Thursday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that the Iraqi tribal fighters have managed to kill 4 ISIS murderous Moslems during festivities in northeast of Tikrit city.

The source told IraqiNews, "Today, violent festivities erupted between the armed rustics and ISIS murderous Moslems in the outskirts of Rubayda village, located in northeast of Tikrit," noting that, "Iraqi tribal fighters managed to kill 4 elements of the ISIS group in the village."
