| ANA Posts Attacked in Badakhshan, Fighting Underway |

| [Tolo News] A number of turbans have attacked several posts of Afghan National Army (ANA) in Jurm district of northern Badakhshan province, killing five soldiers and injuring nine others, according to head of Provincial Council. Nine posts have been deserted by the soldiers, Abdullah Naji said, adding a number of other soldiers were surrounded in their posts by the armed attackers. He stated that many other soldiers were still missing since the fighting began late Thursday night. According to Naji, some ANA vehicles were also seized by the turbans. But the Badakhshan Police told TOLOnews that only one soldier was killed and five others were maimed. Regarding deserting the posts, the police acknowledged that it was a tactical draw back. |
