Two soldiers, six militants killed in Jolo clash |

[AFP] Philippine troops battled about 200 Abu Sayyaf militants on Thursday, killing two soldiers and six guerrillas. Military spokeswoman Captain Rowena Muyuela said the soldiers were on patrol on Jolo island when they encountered the militants. She said, "The firefight lasted for two hours resulting in a big number of casualties to the bandits." Ten Abu Sayyaf militants and 15 soldiers were also injured in the encounter before the guerrillas fled. |
