[Gulf Today] Two soldiers were killed and six others injured in a landmine blast set off by New People’s Army militants in Surigao del Sur province.Regional military spokesman Colonel Romeo Brawner said the troops killed a suspected NPA member and captured another in the firefight triggered by the explosion in a village in the town of San Miguel. He said the soldiers were on a convoy of five military trucks when the militants set off two landmines they had placed along the road. The soldiers had been heading to join a Holy Week reflection at their headquarters.
