| 23 BNP men sued for torching court room in Barisal |

| [Dhaka Tribune] Police have launched a case against 23 BNP activists including some senior local leaders on charge of arson attack on Barisal court room. Kotwali cop shoppe SI Mojibor Rahman lodged the lawsuit with the cop shoppe on Friday night, said Shoibal Kanti Chowdhury, Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner. Kotwali cop shoppe OC Shakhawat Hossain said SI Delwar Hossain was assigned to look into the case. The accused include BNP's Barisal unit President Ebaidul Huq Chan, Secretary (south) Abul Kalam Shahin, the city unit Swechhasebok Dal Joint Convener Mahbubur Rahman Pintu and the city unit JCD Joint Conveners Shohidul Islam Anis and Rofikul Islam Jony. A five-member committee was also formed to probe the attack and was directed to submit its report within three working days. Thursday's attack on the room of Shahinur Begum, senior judicial magistrate for Wazirpur and Banaripara, destroyed all documents. |
