Did Homer Simpson discover the HIGGS BOSON? |
2015-03-03 |
The author of a book looking at the maths hidden within episodes of the Simpsons has discovered that Homer may have predicted the mass of the Higgs boson 14 years before physicists discovered the particle at the Large Hadron Collider in Cern. Dr Simon Singh, a physicist and author, found the solution written on a blackboard in front of Homer during a 1998 episode of the long running cartoon. |

#8 JosephMendiola, you are an international treasure, only a man like you would innately grasp the meaning of donuts and their relationship to Quantum Physics vis-Ã -vis Homer Simpson |

#7 As HOMER would droolingly say > "DONUTS - IS THERE ANYTHING THEY CAN'T DO"!? Donuts is a Sign from God - who dares to challenge God! |

#6 As I have always depended on the kindness of strangers with mathematics matters, I read the comments at the article. They indicate there is less to the article than meets the eye. |

#4 Looks like he's disproved Fermat's Last Theorem into the bargain. |

#3 No. Homer discovered the Simpson Boson. What did Higgs ever do, anyway, besides leave work for other people to clean up? |

#2 Apparently Homer does a little free lance research in his spare time at the power plant. |
