Obama Seeks to Block Immigration Ruling
2015-02-21
[AnNahar] President Barack Obama
Jedi mind meld...
's administration will seek to block a court ruling that has frozen landmark immigration reform and called into question his strategy of bypassing Congressional stalemate.

The White House said on Friday that papers would be filed by Monday to stay a Texas court injunction against reforms that would protect millions of undocumented Democrats from deportation.

The Department of Justice has "made a decision to file a stay" said White House front man Josh Earnest.

Obama has already indicated that his administration will formally appeal the ruling, but this move would allow the program to go ahead until a higher court weighs in.

"I think that the law is on our side and history is on our side, we are going to appeal it," Obama said last week as the policy was due to enter into law.
He 'thinks' the law is on his side? Appears his legal views are evolving. He never thought that way in over twenty statements in previous speeches regarding separation of powers.
Twenty-six states -- all but two Republican-governed -- had pressed the Texas judge to intervene, claiming Obama had acted unlawfully.

Obama had used an executive order to bypass a hostile Congress and drive through measures, rather than seeking politicians' approval.

#6  Obama and his ilk believe they can make up the rules as they go.

Several states are starting to ignore federal rules.

Things are getting interesting.

#5  It'll be the last gasp of the Oligarchy conning the people to believe its still a republic. Once the old citizen 'compliance' is killed, they ain't seen nothing yet about Irish resistance trying to rule 300 million people who have 300 million guns. Islands of blue urban areas and universities aren't going to hold the whole thing together long.

#4  Do you think the elitist (on both sides) would allow a convention they don't control? Something will be staged to discredit it enough that they can ignore it. The media will make sure of that. Or try to.

#2  Texas can play that game, start deporting illegals. If the feds complain, arrest them for treason against the Great State of Texas, convict them and deport them to the fiery vats below.

#1  I have heard they have been disregarding the Texas court ruling anyway, so why do they need a stay?
