#13 @#11: Per Fox, the Marines were not "allowed" to leave their weapons. They were ordered to by DoS. Absolutely shameful. |

#12 They also cooked the stats on how much extra it would cost to keep the A-10. $3.5B my hairy a$$. If you have to lie, you're on the wrong side of the argument. |

#11 'Criminal charges' should be brought against those responsible for allowing the United States Marines Embassy detail to hand over their weapons to terrorists and thugs before leaving Yemen. [just heard about it on teevee] |

#10 Especially retiring the safest airframe behind the KC-130 tanker, and the most sorteed airframe (Afghanistan theater). I do believe there would be criminal charges against, say, a pharmacutical company who presented stats so skewed. |

#9 Carter said he thinks he can keep the A-10. Will see what he does. |

#8 Beso, unfortunately the MilIndCom became the model for any and all industries. Big Pharma, Big Social Workers/academics, Big Auto, in short any industry with monopsony characteristics when dealing with BIGGG GOVERNMENT saw what the Mil Ind did and saw that it was good. |

#7 Spot on OS. Ike warned us about it (Mil/Industrial Complex), LM and NG are clear and present manifestations of his warnings. I won't speak for Boeing. I've never had anything to do with them. |

#6 These bastards are all about feeding Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, and putting money into local districts and campaign pockets -- and securing future jobs with those companies. These traitorous bastards should be stripped of rank and put in the stockade for dereliction of duty, namely the duty to provide the weapon systems the actual warfighters need in order to win wars. |

#5 $$$$ How much do you want to bet all those PMs still got PCS or retirement awards with all the delays and overruns in costs in the next-generation aircraft programs? Got to protect our own (see - institutional corruption) |

#4 The logic behind retiring an airframe without a suitable, proven replacement is rather strange and in need of looking into. |

#3 Gee... it is almost like a conspiracy to get the plane mothballed. Making sure more Americans die on the battlefield. All those responsible should be shot. |

#2 "pother" = "other". Fat fingers and a goodly sized glass of Laphroaig. |

#1 What's wrong with cooking the stats on the A-10? The stats on the CPI are cooked, as are the stats on unemployment . . . and the inflation rate . . . . . and the GDP . . . . . and all the pother important numbers. So why not the A-10 as well? |
