| Clashes Break Out in Arsal between IS, FSA |

| [AnNahar] Clashes erupted overnight Friday between the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... and the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... in the northeastern border town of Arsal after the group seized FSA members. The state-run National News Agency reported that IS fighters kidnapped several Syrians at gunpoint prompting Zahran Alloush group, which is linked to the FSA, to engage in battles with the IS to free them. Heavy machineguns were used in the festivities that lasted an hour in Arsal's al-Shafaq neighborhood. Casualties were reported in the gunbattles. Jihadists from al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra ...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant... Front and the IS are entrenched on the outskirts of Arsal on the porous Syrian-Lebanese border. |
