Senate Issues Damning Report On CIA Torture Technique
2014-12-10
[IsraelTimes] Senate Sherlocks delivered a damning indictment of CIA practices Tuesday, accusing the spy agency of inflicting pain and suffering on prisoners beyond legal limits and deceiving the nation with stories of life-saving interrogations unsubstantiated by its own records.

Treatment in secret prisons a decade ago was worse than the government told Congress or the public, said the report from the Senate Intelligence Committee, the first official public accounting after years of debate about the CIA?s brutal handling of prisoners.

Five hundred pages were released, representing the executive summary and conclusions of a still-classified 6,700-page full investigation.

#17  Richard Blum, everybody. He'll be in the news shortly

#16  If I was as vulnerable to exposure of sleazy business habits and rent-purchasing as DiFi and her husband, I'd have been saying: "This is not wise". Will be interesting what facts and evidence surface about them in the future

#15  So much faux self-righteous indignation on the part of Feinstein and the donks.

#13  This is a political POS. No CIA interviews, no balance to it, no bipartisan approach - a pure Democrat party propaganda piece designed to give them a cudgel. Not designed to keep the public any safer, nor secure the republic, or any other noble cause. Pure high handed political bullshit, typical of Harry Reid's tenure in the Senate.

#12  Choosing between disclosure of rough treatment and bugging a Senators phone, well, I'd burn the CIA to the ground.

#11  Feinstein is trying to become the Frank Church of her day?

Apparently.

Apparently also a hit-job (as in "get it out before the Senate Democrats lose their majority") on her part, if one listened to the 'discussion' between her and CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

Diane Feinstein is taking flak for this.

#9  Nothing here not in Eichenwald's 500 Days, which was on the NYT best seller list two years ago.

Pure squirrel against the Gruber fiasco. Plus the usual Boosh, even though he didn't start it.

#8  Besoeker nails it:
"This latest effort is the dems last shot at Bush/Chaney and an opportunity to support Champ's 'check-out lane' at GITMO."

Recalling that Holder was head of the legal 'pro bono attourneys' representing 16 GITMO innocent akbars, this 'report' will be used for 'humanitarian' releases to places like Uruguay and Chicago. Call it a Presidential Pardon for non-citizens.

#7  The Donks are trying to neuter the CIA much like they did at the end of the Vietnam War. Feinstein is trying to become the Frank Church of her day? They are also trying to act like they have the high ground by demonizing George W. again--it's just an act. They got a lot of mileage out demonizing George W. and they got a lot of mileage out of demonizing Abu Ghraib endlessly. We are not hearing so much about the IRS, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and Jonathan Money Grubber and the hoax perpetrated on the American people called Obamacare. The CIA report is old news and a red herring (emphasis on Red) and yet another wag-the-dog distraction.

#6  Sometimes, you need to talk to people pretty HARD to get their attention. It loses effect when it becomes routine for the genpop. The occupants become compliant, the specialists become bullies and the ROI drops precipitously.

#4  Remember, you don't have to take these people out. Just look the other way while those trying to take them out do their work. You know, just like the FBI with the Fort Hood shooter or Boston bombers. Ooops. Posted by Procopius2k

#3  Payback for snooping on the Senators' computers. It's OK to look for leaks on 'journalists' computers, but 'how dare you' actually look at sources! Don't you know who I am?

#2  Having one's Toyota truck and famnily targeted by the White House for a late evening, firey drone attack is somehow more civilized than waterboarding ?

Much to do about nothing. As Jay Carney might say "it was a long time ago." The right people knew what was going on I assure you. This latest effort is the dems last shot at Bush/Chaney and an opportunity to support Champ's 'check-out lane' at GITMO.

Keep an eye on Champ, he'll be normalizing relations with the Castro's soon and ending the GITMO lease, or subleasing the facility to Vlad. Champ is a communist, he'll do what communists do.

#1  Written only by Democratic staffers without any input from the Republicans.

No CIA personnel were interviewed.

The report is intended to be a slam on the Bush administration and the Republican controlled committee back in the early 2000s.

It is also possible DiFi still has her panties in a wad over having her email hacked by the CIA or someone and does what the Democrats do best...Make the US look bad.

Of course this is completely in line with the current administration's foreign policy(?) of destroying any resemblance of US credibility in the ME.

Someone in the Republican party should gather up a big war chest and go after her in 2016...there is so much dirt on her and her husband and their financial shenanigans to spark a really juicy campaign. Just have to remind all of the participants in the Republican primary that DiFi is the target not each other...the object is to find a candidate to defeat her not destroy each other.
