[Gulf Today] Suspected New People's Army militants killed four civilians and injured four others including an eight-year-old girl in an ambush in Surigao del Sur province in Mindanao.Major Jolito Barces said the ambush occurred in the town of Rosario, Surigao del Sur while the victims were on their way home after attending Sunday services at a church in a village. He said the victims were aboard a government ambulance on their way home after attending the service when about 20 suspected NPA militants who were apparently waiting along the road fired at them. Two victims died at the scene while two others died at the nearest hospital.
Police also reported a group of heavily-armed NPA militants ambushed a truck carrying soldiers in Mountain Province in northern Luzon, killing one and injuring six others.
