[Iraq News] On Saturday Kurdish sources reported that Peshmerga forces have launched a major offensive to liberate Sinjar area from the control of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).The sources said in an interview for IraqiNews.com that âtoday the Kurdish Peshmerga forces have launched an attack from several directions to liberate Sinjar from the grip of ISIS,â adding that âthey are advancing towards the Alkiraon, Dhola and Qahtaniyah municipalities using the latest heavy and light weapons against ISIS fighters to re-control Sinjar.
German news agency reported that the Peshmerga forces pounded ISIS strongholds with heavy weapons and mortars and inflicted casualties among ISIS without giving further information.
