Norway's 'killer robot' technology under fire |
2014-10-24 |
![]() The partially autonomously controlled missiles, or so-called "killer robots", will be used for airborne strikes for its new fighter jets and have the ability to identify targets and make decisions to kill without human interference. The missile is to be deployed on the F-35. Doesn't a human pilot have to fire the missile? I wouldn't like to be flying an airplane that decides to fire its own missiles; might spill my coffee. The fact that the missile could discriminate between an AK-47 and a baby carriage might be a good thing. Non-robot missiles just go boom after you fire them. |
