Failed coup in Donetsk |

![]() Russian language press is reporting that an attempted coup took place in Donetsk three days ago. A news item posted on ru-fects.com says that a deputy prime minister identified as Vladimir Akinfeev tried to give orders to other officials while top Donetsk officials were in Minsk earlier in the week hammering out a ceasefire agreement. The Donetsk Minister of Public Security DNR Leonid Baranov said that Akinfeev tried to have key officials removed from office, but his orders were disobeyed. Baranov said Akinfeev have been detained and will face charges in court. Akinfeev is said to be a pro Moscow politician. |
