Cameron Cites No-Ransom Pledge at NATO as Hostage Held |

[BUSINESSWEEK] U.K. Prime Minister ![]() ... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite,which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideologicalhe lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger,but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ... will urge the leaders of La Belle France, Germany and Italia to be "good to their word" and refrain from paying ransoms as a British hostage faces death at the hands of Islamist bad boys. Cameron said he will use a dinner at the NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... summit in Wales tonight to remind the three European allies of the pledge by their leaders at last year's Group of Eight summit not to facilitate ransom payments. The G-8 agreed not to pay ransoms and "Britannia continues with this policy, America continues with this policy, but we need to redouble the efforts to make sure that other countries are good to their word." |
