U.S. Says Russia May Be Directing Ukraine Rebel Offensive

[BUSINESSWEEK] The U.S. said Russia may be directing a counteroffensive by separatist rebels in Ukraine as fighting in the battle-torn country's easternmost regions spread to previously peaceful areas.

Jen Psaki, the U.S. State Department spokeswoman, cited the reports of fresh fighting, telling news hounds in Washington yesterday that "these incursions indicate a Russian-directed counter-offensive is likely under way in Donetsk and Luhansk." Russian President Vladimir Putin

#15  Didn't the Russians actually rape/kill hundreds of thousands of innocent germans? And there weren't more because of the fact they fled West, towards the US and British armies? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I distinctly remember reading about thousands of German women committing suicide after being raped.

That's not to say the Germans were any better, I'm not making that claim. I'm just saying that when faced with Communists or NAZIs, there isn't really much difference except EVERYONE suffered in the end.

#11  Give Putin credit for his slow-motion invasion, slowly taking the covers off even as the Ukes ramp up their opposition and require him to go with armor to push past main force army units of Ukraine. Not only has he kept world media flummoxed wit the paper thin disguise of "local insurgent" forces draped over Russian Spec Ops and paras, but he has had the whole world watch his land grab, knowing the clear truth, and see OBumble mouth more meaningless BS and see that the US is gutless while this clueless child is at the helm.

#9  Beladra Sloque. Actually the Russians are decent, nice and compassionate people. Consider what the US did to the Japanese for having attacked a militaryobjective whatever sneaky the attack and think in what they would have done to the Germans had they killed more then twenty five million Americans and raped more than ten million American women. I doubt there would have been many Germans left alive.

They have learned nothing. They are only interested in useless 'negotiations' and deals that buy them momentary political cover and inflate their egos just a bit more. They will never learn, even if they find themselves staring down Putin's gunbarrels...for at that point, they will consider it a 'political and moral victory' that they died last.
