o Woman arrived at the jobcentre with a high fever, then collapsed o Hundreds of visitors and staff in the building were held for several hours o The suspected Ebola victim has been taken to Berlin's Charite hospital A woman was rushed to hospital and hundreds of people were quarantined today after she showed symptoms of Ebola virus infection in a jobcentre in Germany. As many as 600 visitors and staff at the employment office building in Berlin were also stopped from leaving for several hours as emergency services sealed off part of the street. The mass-circulation daily Bild said the woman had fainted, that she hailed from Nigeria and that she said later that she had recently been in contact with people infected with Ebola. Several people who had been with the woman inside the building in the north-eastern district of Prenzlauer Berg were later taken to hospital for testing. He said the testing in the city's Charite hospital would take some time. 'The patient was isolated inside the ambulance, the staff took the appropriate protective measures. An emergency medic, the public health officer, arrived and the necessary precautions were taken,' he added. European countries have been taking precautions against a possible spread, with Berlin's Charite hospital, where the woman showing symptoms was taken today, last week holding a photocall for the media to publicise its readiness. | |

| #3 Building on the opening comments from the Periwinkle Mistress, Mrs. Ret. has been told in the hallowed halls of NHOH at NASWI there will be no more discussions of Ebola for fear of panicking the population. It had been a regular topic @ their staff meetings, but no more. But it is known there that the State Dept is slowly pulling there embassy pers from many o'seas locations as well as some non-essential DOD types. SEATAC airport has a brand new (within the last month) Quarantine center set up in the international terminal. |

| #2 Cheap labor actually only applies to owners of companies who simply transfer the costs to everyone else to cover the various 'perks' of western socialism (food,housing,medical,etc). Now it could be said that in the end all consumers pay the costs, but direct costs avoid the expense, in money and power, of bureaucracies used to administrate those costs. |
