I'd fire rockets at Israel, if I lived in Gaza: British MP | |
2014-07-23 | |
![]() "The big question is - if I lived in Gazoo would I fire a rocket? - probably yes," Liberal Democrat member of parliament David Ward said in a message posted on Twitter on Tuesday. He added in a follow-up message that the West should "make up its mind - which side is it on?" The comments drew criticism from the Liberal Democrats, with some on social media calling on party leader Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg to suspend Ward from the party. "We utterly condemn David Ward's comments, they are not representative of the Liberal Democrats," the party also said in a statement, adding that it would take the matter "very seriously and will treat it as a disciplinary issue." Last July, Ward was suspended from his party for making anti-Israeli remarks.

#12 Not suggesting it but... I wonder how he would feel if someone was taking blind-random shots at his home while he and his family were there. Somehow I don't think he'll just sit there. |

#8 Wait, his statement meant he would fire only if the IDF did not target him in return. This qualification was just lost in the translation from Euro wanker double speak into american english dialect. Not too worry. |

#7 Probably just posturing for the 65% Muslim electorate in his district or he could really, really mean it. |

#2 Hey, come on. It's not like firing rockets at civilian populations is a war crime. Ok, it is. Just shut up. Moral equivalency...collective punishment....blah blah blah. Is it traditional for Brit MPs to fantasize about committing attrocities? He is right though - it is time to choose up sides. |

#1 "The big question is - if I lived in Gazoo would I fire a rocket? - probably yes," Liberal Democrat member of parliament David Ward said in a message posted on Twitter on Tuesday. MP Ward wouldn't actually fire the icky rocket. He'd task an Irishman, Scot, or other lowly foreign conscript to do it for him. Proper English gentlemen do not engage in such activity, particularly when drones and counter-battery radar are in play. |
