[DAWN] POLITICIANS, like generals, never seem to die. They just fade away, unless, of course, they happen to be in Pakistain where they can be hanged, shot or blown up. But if you don't upset the army or the Taliban, you can expect to be in harness well into your dotage. Indeed, the senior member of the Chaudhry clan can barely utter a coherent sentence, but still makes the headlines. The point here is that by clinging on to their party positions, these old fogies have prevented the younger generation from rising up the ranks. Even Imran Khan ![]() |
