No Bond For Detroit-Area Man Linked To Hezbollah |
2014-04-01 |
[Ynet] A bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... -area man accused of trying to travel to the Middle East to fight in Syria's civil war will remain in jug while his case moves through court. The government says 22-year-old Mohammad Hamdan wanted to join Hezbollah, a Shiite Mohammedan group in Leb that is classified by the US as a terrorist organization. He is charged with violating a law that prohibits support for terrorist groups. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen said Monday that Hamdan won't be released on bond. Whalen pored over transcripts of secretly recorded conversations and says Hamdan is a "confused young man." He fears Hamdan may try to flee. |
