11 Taliban militants killed, 12 others detained in Afghan operations

[The Peninsula] At least 11 Talibs were killed during military operations by Afghan national security forces in various provinces of Afghanistan during the past 24 hours.

Interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said Wednesday that 11 Talibs were killed during the military operations.

The statement further added that 2 Talibs were maimed and 12 others were also detained by Afghan cops.

Interior ministry also added in its statement that Afghan national security forces seized heavy and light weapons and ammunition during the operations.

Afghan national police forces discovered and seized six improvised bomb (IED) during military operations in Ghazni, Kandahar and Balkh provinces.

The IEDS were planted by Talibs to carry out insurgency attacks, interior ministry added in its statement.
