Boko Haram: Hundreds reportedly killed as Military raids Sambisa in Borno |
2014-03-25 |
![]() ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... fighters were sighted coming out of the dreaded Sambisa forest area. The travellers said they saw the corpses when they were stopped for usual checks by soldiers near Bama town on Monday. A traveller, Magi Hassan, a student of Federal University of Technology, Yola in Adamawa state who left Maiduguri alongside friends to Adamawa state said, the soldiers were saying that the reign of Boko Haram has come to a close. She said the soldiers, who seemed to be happy were also telling passengers that, very soon, nobody would stop them for checks or plant IEDs on the high way with the intention of killing innocent people. According to her, "One of the soldiers, while giving information to some of his colleagues simply said, 'We got the bastards,'. We counted six trucks but we don't know the number of corpses because the soldiers were only talking with their colleagues while some of them were asking for our phone numbers." She said. Meanwhile, ...back at the revival hall, the SWAT team had finally arrived... residents of Borno state have expressed great worries over the shutting down of mobile communication in the state following the attack on Sambisa, on Sunday by the military. Residents said, the hard boyz may not be using the ordinary GSM but phones like Thuraya, which is more expensive and not common to most local resident. "If the turbans use GSM or CDMA phones, won't a smart security organization take immediate advantage and track them? Let's take a look at what can be achieved. First, the phone number of one terrorist is all we need and in a short time, we will know his wife, his kids his friends (turbans and non-terrorists). "With every additional turbans we know, a huge database can be created of turbans or those who help them in a short time, probably weeks. It is easy if you can read their text and eavesdrop on their communications to pick out the leaders, foot soldiers, and all." A resident commented. |
