Last night, mortar shells were flung at different areas in Baidoa, provincial capital city of Bay. The shells were chucked at the entrance of the Baidoa airport and some other areas within the city.It is not known the amount of casualties sustained by the mortar shelling but locals have reported to Radio Shabelle that the fatalities were severe.
For the past few days in Baidoa, there were various conferences going on to elect the president of the South-Western state.
