Three ‘rogue’ Moro militants killed in Mindanao clash |

The Philippine military on Sunday reported that three suspected members of a breakaway group from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were killed when they attacked an army encampment in Mindanao's Maguindanao province. Military spokesman Colonel Dickson Hermoso said three soldiers were also injured in the attack launched by members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in the town of Datu Saudi Ampatuan late on Saturday night. He said, “They conducted harassment against the troops by firing several mortar rounds at the military encampment,” adding the attack was meant to derail the signing of a peace agreement between the government and the MILF in March. But Abu Misry Mama, the BIFF spokesman, denied the attack aimed to derail the peace process, saying, “The peace deal is a non-issue to us. Our struggle continues.
