| Libya to compensate revolution rape victims |

| [MAGHAREBIA] The Libyan government on Wednesday (February 19th) recognised women who suffered sexual violence during the 2011 popular uprising as war victims. It adopted a decree that "protects victims of rape during the war of liberation and recognises them as victims of war", Justice Minister Salah al-Marghani said. Under the decree, rape victims will benefit from financial, medical, housing and education assistance, AFP reported. |
