[Ynet] A joint American-Greek investigation revealed that Israeli arms dealers tried to smuggle spare parts for F-4 Phantom aircrafts to Iran through Greece, in a breach of the arms embargo imposed on Tehran, Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported on Sunday.

#3 The aviation spares business has the potential to provide excellent long-term access and connections. You've got something they need. They've got something..... you need, and it may have nothing to do with money. |

#2 Questions, questions... Even with good pilots, are aging Phantoms much of a threat in this day and age? Why would Israelis sell *anything* of military value to the Persians? Money is the easy answer. But if the spares were radar and avionics, this could be an opportunity to rig the game. |
