| IDF Officer Shoots Arab Stone Thrower | |

| [The Jewish Press] On Saturday, approximately 100 Arabs attacked a unit of IDF soldiers with rocks, near the town of Shaked in the Shomron. One of the soldiers, a senior officer from the Nachal-Haredi unit, shot one of the stone throwers in the knee. The stone thrower was evacuated for medical treatment. Hat tip to the IDF officer looking after his men. Time for a little Hachal Haredi celebration.

| #6 Depends on how big the rock is, how hard it was thrown and what part of the body (or head) it hits whether or not it can kill. Take no chances. Shoot 'em. |

| #4 ..except stoning (before the modern colloquial use) meant killing someone. Goliath was unavailable for comment. Slingers were common in ancient armies as screens, skirmishers, and ambushers. The most renowned were the Balearic slingers. |

| #3 People may say "Why did they shoot that kid? They were only throwing rocks. At most, rocks can only give you a bad bruise. Bullets can kill." Except that with 100 people throwing rocks, it would be difficult to tell the difference between a rock and a grenade. |

| #1 Great link! The guy with the Mic is a fantastic would make a fine tummler. I now own the word I have used it in a sentence that is nearly relevant to the topic at hand. BTW, speaking of tummler have you heard the one about the mother whose son excitedly announces that he has been picked for the part of the Jewish husband in a school play. The mother replies, “You tell the teacher you want a speaking part.” |
