| Three injured in Karachi grenade attacks |

| [DAWN] At least three people were maimed, including a policeman, during three separate hand-grenade attacks in Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... on Friday, DawnNews reported. A hand-grenade attack was foiled on its own near the city's Sohrab Goth area. Two suspected miscreants attacked a police mobile van with a hand-grenade which went kaboom!inside their own vehicle, leaving them injured. The suspects were taken into custody and shifted to a hospital. According to a police source, one policeman was also injured in the attack whereas the two injured suspects were being investigated. Separately, unidentified motorcyclists lobbed a hand-grenade on the vehicle of a non-governmental organization's (NGO) general secretary Noor Muhammad in the city's Metroville area. The car was severely damaged, however, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
