![]() Rantburg.com This week's terminal fascist comes from Massachusetts. (You were shocked, weren't you? Go ahead admit it!) A Selectman, which I assume is similar to a city councilman, wants to give local police the power to inspect private arms stowage to ensure compliance with the law. The sad part is, a lot of Massachusetts' citizens will probably go along with it. An article sponsored by Ammoland.com lays out the likely road American leftists will take for gun confiscation: mental illness. This is part of what the left does. Defines an amorphous group that can't actually vote, which can be easily demonized and then apply new draconian rules against them, which wind up affecting everyone and slowly strangle the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to an ever larger cross section of society. California Congressman Darrell Issa says that Obama's Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms rogue agency is setting up firearms purchase stings in several large cities. ATF: creating criminals for us to revile. Last week the wife of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Ryan Tannehill, Lauren Tannehill accidentally left an AR-15 in the trunk of a rental car, so hijinks ensued. The customers who found it were instantly afraid to touch the weapon, and called the local sheriff in Broward County. The sheriff's office said: "Though dangerous if it would have landed in the wrong hands, it's not criminal." If it was in law enforcement hands, it was in the wrong hands. Speaking of cops, Torrance, California policeman skates on changes in an accidental shooting. #1 Dem uses childÂ’s death to take aim at thriving hobby industry. Foto in 'Daily Caller' the article depicts an "airsoft sniper" at play.... somewhere in the UK. One must wonder if this lad's grandfather would have participated in such events after his return from 7 years Africa in 1945, or an uncle from the war in the Falklands ? Historical reenactments aside, when violent death becomes a "hobby," perhaps there is a need for a second look, a sanity check, a caution. |
