25 Moslem Brüderbund sympathizers in the areas of Monsha'at al-Qanater, al-Sheikh Zayed, al-Talbeya and Agouza for hampering the voting process.

Hundreds of supporters of deposed President Mohammed Morsy fired shots against polling stations at al-Farouq school in Mansoureya, injuring four bystanders. Security forces used teargas to disperse the Brotherhood supporters and 19 were arrested.

A worker and his wife were also arrested in Sheikh Zayed area for "rioting" as well as holding flyers, a drum and speakers.

In Agouza, security troops arrested a worker and a student in possession of 11 molotov cocktails. The suspects confessed to holding them to use against police and military.

In Talbeya, a housewife was arrested while holding a gun and 16 bullets as well as drugs.

In Hawamdeya, security is working on arresting dozens of Morsy supporters who blocked Cairo-Assiut agricultural road and burnt a car driven by coppers after beating them and seizing their weapons.

Reports were filed. Prosecution was notified to conduct investigations.

The interim government has stepped up security in face of demonstrations staged during the referendum as it is the most pivotal step in the democratic transition following the military-supported ouster of Egypt's first democratically-elected President Mohammed Morsy as it gives legitimacy to what many critics of the 30 June uprising call a "coup."
