Salem Communications buys RedState.com, others |

![]() Rantburg.com According to an announcement on its website, Salem Communications Monday closed the sale on a number of conservative publications and companies. Salem bought Regnery Publishing and Eagle Publishing for an undisclosed sum. Among Eagle Publishing properties are: Eagle Publishing, RedState.com, Human Events, which is a news magazine that recently went digital only, and two human services companies under the Eagle banner. Regnery Publishing is a Christian and conservative publisher which counts among its published authors Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, Michelle Malkin, David Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Mark Steyn and Dinesh D'Souza. Salem Communications is the largest radio network in America, including 102 radio stations in 39 markets. Among those stations are 40 Christian talk stations, 27 conservative talk stations, 12 Christian music stations, eight Spanish Christian stations and 10 business talk stations. Additionally, Salem Communications provides Christian content to more than 2,000 radio stations nationwide. Salem also owns Townhall.com, and the company acquired Michelle Malkin's Hotair.com in 2011 and her Twitchy.com website just last year. |
