| 3 held over Banglamotor arson attack |

| [PRIMENEWS.BD] Dhaka: Detectives in overnight raids picked up three people in connection with the arson arrack on a bus at Banglamotor area in the city that left a police potted in late last month. The three were identified as Rabiul Islam Nayan, Jibon and Anup Chandra. Assistant Commissioner of Information and Public Relation Department of Detective Police Shatki Kabiraj Jhulan said the three were held on Friday night and early Saturday. On December 24, a traffic police constable was burnt to death in the arson attack by person or persons unknown on a bus near Banglamotor police box in the city. Another police member and the driver of the bus sustained burn injuries in the arson attack. Three coppers were inside the bus parked at the spot when unidentified miscreants on a motor bike hurled petrol bomb on the requisitioned bus and fled away at about 11:20pm, few hours after the opposition's countrywide blockade had ended. The following day a case was filed against top BNP leaders including BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in connection with the attack. |
